Ammonium Sulfate 21-0-0-24S — China Supplier & Exporter
Ammonium sulfate (NH4)2SO4, 21-0-0-24S — a dual-nutrient nitrogen and sulfur fertilizer supplied from China in crystalline and granular form for agricultural, compound fertilizer and industrial applications.
Supplied from China · Crystalline and granular · Container and bulk shipment
Product overview
Ammonium sulfate is an inorganic salt that delivers two plant nutrients in a single product: nitrogen in the ammonium form and sulfur in the sulfate form. The fertilizer grade is normally described by its analysis as 21-0-0-24S — approximately 21% nitrogen and 24% sulfur. It is one of the most widely traded straight nitrogen fertilizers in the world, and China is one of its largest production and export bases. We supply ammonium sulfate from China to importers, distributors, compound fertilizer producers and industrial buyers worldwide.
Where it is used
- Straight nitrogen and sulfur fertilizer for agriculture
- Raw material for NPK and compound fertilizer production
- Granulation and blending into bulk blends
- Industrial uses where a sulfate nitrogen source is required
Availability
We supply both granular and crystalline ammonium sulfate. Ammonium sulfate supply in China is driven largely by production from other industrial processes rather than dedicated synthesis, so the particle size and analysis available for a given shipment follow the production schedule. Tell us your requirement and we will confirm the specification we can offer against the TDS and COA for the lot, rather than quoting a nominal figure the cargo may not match.

Lot-specific data: Typical specification is issued per production lot and confirmed against the TDS and COA supplied with the quotation.
Ammonium Sulfate — typical specification
Nutrient figures are nominal values determined by the chemistry of the compound. Every other parameter varies by producer and by production lot and is declared on the documents issued for the lot shipped.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Nitrogen (N) | 21% nominal (21-0-0) Declared per lot on the COA |
| Sulfur (S) | 24% nominal (24S) Declared per lot on the COA |
| Moisture | Confirmed per lot — see TDS / COA |
| Free acid | Confirmed per lot — see TDS / COA |
| Bulk density | Confirmed per lot — see TDS / COA |
| Particle size | Confirmed per lot — see TDS / COA Relevant for granular form |
| Appearance / colour | White to off-white — confirmed per lot |
Values marked “confirmed per lot” are lot-specific. The figures applying to your cargo are declared on the Certificate of Analysis and Technical Data Sheet issued for that production lot. Send us your requirements and we will confirm the specification before you commit.
Need the specification before you order? Tell us which parameters are critical for your process — particle size for a blend, moisture for storage, free acid for a reaction — and we will confirm what the available production can meet, in writing, before you commit.
Why buyers specify ammonium sulfate
Two nutrients in one product
Ammonium sulfate supplies nitrogen and sulfur together. For crops and soils that are short of sulfur, it removes the need for a separate sulfur application.
Ammonium nitrogen
The nitrogen is in the ammonium form, which is not subject to the volatilisation losses associated with urea on the soil surface and is readily taken up by crops.
Established blending raw material
It is a standard component in NPK formulations and bulk blends, valued as a low-cost nitrogen source that also contributes sulfur to the analysis.
Suitable for many soil types
Its acidifying effect in the soil is used deliberately where alkaline soils or bicarbonate-rich irrigation water reduce the availability of micronutrients.
Applications
- Straight nitrogen and sulfur fertilizer for agriculture
- Raw material for NPK and compound fertilizer production
- Granulation and blending into bulk blends
- Industrial uses where a sulfate nitrogen source is required
Packaging options
- 25 kg bags. Standard small bags for distributors and retail-facing supply. Bag material, printing and palletisation are agreed per order.
- 50 kg bags. Larger bags for agricultural distribution and handling systems that work at 50 kg unit weights.
- Jumbo bags (FIBC). Typically used for industrial buyers and for container or bulk programmes where large unit weights reduce handling cost.
- Bulk (in vessel). Loose cargo for bulk vessel shipment, subject to vessel availability, loading port facilities and discharge requirements at destination.
Container & bulk shipment
Bagged material ships in containers from Qingdao or Tianjin. Large programmes can be arranged as bulk vessel cargo where the destination can discharge loose material. We quote FOB, CFR or CIF — tell us the trade term you want to work on and your destination port.
Loading quantity: Loading quantity depends on packaging, container type and shipping requirements.
Quality documents issued with the shipment
Documents are issued on a per-shipment basis. The certificate of analysis is the manufacturer's own document for the production lot actually shipped — not a document prepared by the trading company.
Certificate of Analysis (COA)
The analysis of the production lot shipped, issued by the manufacturer. This is the document that tells you what you received — check it against the contract specification.
Technical Data Sheet (TDS)
Product description, physical and chemical properties, handling and storage information for the grade.
Export documents
Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and bill of lading, prepared to match your payment instrument and destination requirements.
Certification beyond this set is reviewed and confirmed for each order before contract — see Quality & Documents.
Ammonium Sulfate — common questions
What is ammonium sulfate?
Ammonium sulfate is an inorganic salt with the chemical formula (NH4)2SO4. The fertilizer grade contains approximately 21% nitrogen and 24% sulfur and is traded under the grade description 21-0-0-24S.
What is 21-0-0-24S?
It is the standard analysis used for ammonium sulfate: 21% nitrogen, no phosphorus, no potassium, and 24% sulfur. The figures are nominal values; the exact analysis for your cargo is declared on the certificate of analysis for that production lot.
Do you supply both crystalline and granular ammonium sulfate?
Yes — we supply both crystalline and granular ammonium sulfate. Tell us the form, quantity and destination, and we will confirm the particle size and analysis available for your shipment against the TDS and COA for the production lot.
Which documents are provided with a shipment?
A certificate of analysis, technical data sheet and standard export documents are issued on a per-shipment basis. Certification beyond that is confirmed for each order before contract. See our Quality & Documents page.
