Crystalline Ammonium Sulfate Supplied from China
Crystalline (standard) ammonium sulfate from China — fine white crystals of (NH4)2SO4 for agricultural use, compound fertilizer production and industrial processing.
Supplied from China · Crystalline and granular · Container and bulk shipment
Product overview
Crystalline ammonium sulfate — also called standard or fine grade — is the form in which most ammonium sulfate leaves the production process. It dissolves quickly, is easy to handle in solution and is used both as a straight fertilizer and as an input to compound fertilizer manufacture and industrial processes. Because it is the base grade, it is usually the most widely available form, and price and availability are driven by the by-product supply from chemical production rather than by dedicated synthesis.
Where it is used
- Straight nitrogen and sulfur fertilizer
- Compound fertilizer and NPK production
- Fertigation and water-soluble fertilizer blending where a fine, fast-dissolving grade is required
- Industrial processes requiring a sulfate nitrogen source
Availability
We supply both granular and crystalline ammonium sulfate. Ammonium sulfate supply in China is driven largely by production from other industrial processes rather than dedicated synthesis, so the particle size and analysis available for a given shipment follow the production schedule. Tell us your requirement and we will confirm the specification we can offer against the TDS and COA for the lot, rather than quoting a nominal figure the cargo may not match.

Crystalline Ammonium Sulfate — typical specification
Nutrient figures are nominal values determined by the chemistry of the compound. Every other parameter varies by producer and by production lot and is declared on the documents issued for the lot shipped.
| Parameter | Value |
|---|---|
| Nitrogen (N) | 21% nominal (21-0-0) Declared per lot on the COA |
| Sulfur (S) | 24% nominal (24S) Declared per lot on the COA |
| Moisture | Confirmed per lot — see TDS / COA |
| Free acid | Confirmed per lot — see TDS / COA |
| Bulk density | Confirmed per lot — see TDS / COA |
| Crystal size | Confirmed per lot — see TDS / COA Producer- and lot-specific |
| Water insolubles | Confirmed per lot — see TDS / COA |
Values marked “confirmed per lot” are lot-specific. The figures applying to your cargo are declared on the Certificate of Analysis and Technical Data Sheet issued for that production lot. Send us your requirements and we will confirm the specification before you commit.
Need the specification before you order? Tell us which parameters are critical for your process — particle size for a blend, moisture for storage, free acid for a reaction — and we will confirm what the available production can meet, in writing, before you commit.
Why buyers specify crystalline ammonium sulfate
Fast dissolution
The fine crystalline form dissolves quickly, which suits fertigation and solution-based applications and makes it simple to incorporate in production processes.
Widely available grade
As the base grade produced by the majority of ammonium sulfate capacity, it is the form most consistently available for large or repeat programmes.
Cost-efficient nitrogen and sulfur
It is one of the lower-cost ways to deliver both nitrogen and sulfur into a formulation.
Established industrial input
Beyond agriculture, crystalline ammonium sulfate is used as a processing input in a range of industrial applications.
Applications
- Straight nitrogen and sulfur fertilizer
- Compound fertilizer and NPK production
- Fertigation and water-soluble fertilizer blending where a fine, fast-dissolving grade is required
- Industrial processes requiring a sulfate nitrogen source
Packaging options
- 25 kg bags. Standard small bags for distributors and retail-facing supply. Bag material, printing and palletisation are agreed per order.
- 50 kg bags. Larger bags for agricultural distribution and handling systems that work at 50 kg unit weights.
- Jumbo bags (FIBC). Typically used for industrial buyers and for container or bulk programmes where large unit weights reduce handling cost.
- Bulk (in vessel). Loose cargo for bulk vessel shipment, subject to vessel availability, loading port facilities and discharge requirements at destination.
Container & bulk shipment
Bagged material ships in containers from Qingdao or Tianjin. Large programmes can be arranged as bulk vessel cargo where the destination can discharge loose material. We quote FOB, CFR or CIF — tell us the trade term you want to work on and your destination port.
Loading quantity: Loading quantity depends on packaging, container type and shipping requirements.
Quality documents issued with the shipment
Documents are issued on a per-shipment basis. The certificate of analysis is the manufacturer's own document for the production lot actually shipped — not a document prepared by the trading company.
Certificate of Analysis (COA)
The analysis of the production lot shipped, issued by the manufacturer. This is the document that tells you what you received — check it against the contract specification.
Technical Data Sheet (TDS)
Product description, physical and chemical properties, handling and storage information for the grade.
Export documents
Commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin and bill of lading, prepared to match your payment instrument and destination requirements.
Certification beyond this set is reviewed and confirmed for each order before contract — see Quality & Documents.
Crystalline Ammonium Sulfate — common questions
Is crystalline ammonium sulfate the same as standard ammonium sulfate?
Yes. Standard, crystal and fine grade all describe the same physical form — ammonium sulfate as it comes out of production, before any granulation step.
Can crystalline ammonium sulfate be used in fertigation?
It dissolves readily in water, so it is used in solution-based applications. Suitability for a specific irrigation or fertigation system depends on the water quality and the concentration required — discuss the details with us before specifying.
Which is more common in export trade — crystalline or granular?
Both are supplied. Agricultural distributors and blenders most often specify granular; compound fertilizer producers and industrial buyers frequently take the crystalline grade. The particle size and analysis available for a given shipment follow the production schedule, so tell us your requirement and we will confirm it against the lot TDS and COA.
